nZEB Are You Ready?
What is nZEB?
NZEB stands for Nearly Zero Energy Buildings and the requirements will come into force in England for any new buildings from 31st December 2020. Any buildings completed after December will need to comply with the requirements, no matter when building work began.
While no date has been set for the regulations to come into force in Northern Ireland, NI Building Regulations generally follow those of England.
The NZEB regulations will cover different components of a building design including fabric opening, thermal bridging, ventilation, heating and photovoltaic panels.
