Bike Box for Paracyclist
One of our suppliers asked whether we could manufacture a box to transport an expensive racing bicycle for Peter Ryan who is competing for a place in the Rio 2016 Paralympics.
At the age of 19 Peter was diagnosed with Leber hereditary optic neuropathy (LHON). LHON is a rare genetic disorder with symptoms that usually begin as a sudden loss of central vision. It often starts in one eye and then several weeks’ later causes sight loss in the second eye. Once over the shock of dealing with such a diagnosis, Peter turned his attention to Para-cycling, he is currently competing in races all over Europe with cycling Ireland to achieve qualification for Rio 2016.
This is some of the feedback we received from our supplier, “The guys are delighted with the box, they said it is ideal and can’t believe you got it so right with the first try, so full credit to the design team. As I type the bike and box are on a plane to Manchester for a race at the weekend. Peter showed the box to some of the officials in Cycling Ireland and they were very impressed with it.”
